WHY

NOT?

SUTTER'S LANDING

MORE THAN JUST A HOME

...

IT'S A COMMUNITY

Shelter

A safe and clean place to sleep and a sense of home is possible, with a range of sheltering options.

Nourishment

Healthy food and clean water should be a fundamental for all people, in this farm-to-fork region.

Hygiene

Health and wellness requires cleanliness, treatment and sanitation services at a community level.

The Problem

Unstructured, unsanitary and unsafe homeless camps are a costly burden and a downward spiral for everyone involved. The current plan is simply not working.

The Solution

Let's reconsider our approach and look to other successful models for lifting the homeless community into a sustainable, comprehensive path for wellness and recovery, where the essentials for living exist in a manageable structure of safety and accountability, and a real sense of community and co-existence that respects individual choice.

Sutter's Landing Regional Park is a multi-use opportunity with a lot of potential:

  • River Access, Surface Street Access

  • Close to Public Services (Loaves & Fishes)

  • Room to grow a range of shelter options

  • Most of the park remains preserved as open space for the general public.

  • Immediately actionable before Dec. 31st.
